Group Volunteering at the Seattle House

Volunteering at the Seattle Ronald McDonald House is a great way for your family, work team, friends, church members, or service organization to support families in medical crisis. Families will directly benefit from your acts of kindness while your group enjoys doing meaningful work together.

Requirements

  • Volunteers must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and prepared to show proof of vaccination.
  • Teens in your group must be at least 13 years of age and have had chickenpox or been vaccinated for chickenpox through age 18.
  • Meal Program volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Opportunities

Volunteer groups of up to 9 people prepare 150 dinner servings in our commercial kitchen. Groups start cooking at 1 p.m. and finish around 4 p.m.

Groups of up to 12 volunteers will help clean and maintain our communal areas and grounds, helping to keep our families healthy and secure in their environment.

Indoor work groups run year-round, Tuesday-Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are guided by our Environmental Services Staff and take on tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, and mopping.

Outdoor work groups run April-October on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are guided by volunteer Master Gardeners and take on garden chores such as weeding, planting, pruning, and raking.

Volunteer groups of up to 6 people show movies in our Building A theater, providing fun and community for families. Groups are scheduled Friday-Sunday to screen a G or PG rated film, provide movie snacks, and clean the theater afterwards.

Volunteer groups of up to 6 people provide joy and entertainment through activities.
Groups are scheduled Monday-Friday and run their activity from 4:30-5:30 pm.
